Friendsgiving Live Accomplishments
In 2022, the Founder, Kareen Mills decided to incorparate non-profit giving into her event to empower women to give to each other, to non-profits and the community. Local non-profits like Restored and Revived and NW Cave have been a beneficiary of this giving efforts generated by and through the generous hearts of the women in this event. So far, a total close to $20,000 have been given.
- 2022: $6,000+
- 2023: $13,000+
The support from the women attendees extended beyond just the four walls of this event and it helped spread the mission of Restored and Revived. It also created awareness about their non-profit in our community to help them continue to thrive as a non-profit.
The event serves 100+ women every single year and it keeps growing annually with your support.
New friendships we're made, healing began and old friendships we're solidified.
Collaboration beyond arranged in the event and throughout the next year.
And so much more intangible things that you would have to be there to experience it. It's a very indescribable accomplishment from each individual just by showing up for each other.
Our most recent Friendsgiving was held in Dec 3, 2023 and it was well attended by 100+ women!

I truly didn't know what to expect. I didn't expect to cry a few times. I didn't think I'd walked out so inspired, motivated, welcomed and truthfully feel loved, all from one event.

I’m here to tell you…
How it all started…
One of Kareen’s favorite things to do is to hold space for women and Moms. It's the space she never got to hold for her mother at 6 years old. Today, she makes it a mission to hold space for other women as a tribute to her mother Rose who's still living and enjoying her second wind in life travelling the world visiting her children.
In 2017, a lot of the ladies in her circle including herself were undergoing a set of challenges. Kareen was still in recovery from the 2008 after math because overnight ruins do not amount to overnight recovery.
They also had a lot to celebrate. Kareen organized a small gathering of friends the first Sunday of December in a private space at a local restaurant in Vancouver WA called Warehouse23 with the help of Sunny Golden. It held 24 women and we filled the room! Kareen invited her good friend Kilong Ung, a refugee from Cambodia and a survivor of the Khmer Rouge genocide.
When the next year rolled in 2018, the ladies began asking about doing the event again. Kareen asked the ladies if they just bring one more person we would double the women we all get to serve and then there were 50.
So they did and the annual friendsgiving event was born. In 2019, Kareen hosted the largest Friendsgiving live event in the world hosting 125+ women in an event space. And then the pandemic happened in 2020.
In 2022, Kareen brought it back with hesitation and courage at the same time with some encouragement from a dear friend Lyann Nguyen. The event was sorely missed by the ladies in the community and it served 110+ women. The event offered sponsorships for the very first time and Kareen sold out all of it through her connections and network. We brought a VIP upgrade in collaboration with Lyann Nguyen and that also sold out. The event generated a total of $5,000+ for a local non-profit Restored and Revived.
This year, there are 220 tickets for sale, 22 table sponsorships, 3 tier event sponsorship and several other sponsorship opporutnities available.
A large portion of the sponsorship dollars will go to a lucky non-profit of Kareen's choice this year. Often times (not always), Kareen chooses from the last 4 winners of 100 Women Who Care of SW Washington where Kareen is also a pledging member because the org is already vetted by 100 Women.
